Technical description

The LM386 has an internally set voltage gain of 20, adjustable up to 200 with external components between pins 1 and 8. It has low quiescent current of approximately 4mA and operates with very few external components. Maximum allowed supply voltage depends on the exact family suffix.

Suitable for small radios, intercoms, signal tracers, portable speakers, alarms, hobby audio and low-power amplifiers.

Compatibility note

For operation above 12V, verify the exact LM386 suffix because N-1/N-3 and N-4 versions have different supply-voltage limits.
