The STMicroelectronics M48T18-100PC1 TIMEKEEPER 64Kbit 8Kx8 SRAM RTC 100ns PDIP-28 is a 64Kbit non-volatile SRAM with integrated real-time clock, power-fail circuitry, quartz crystal and lithium battery in a CAPHAT PDIP-28 package.

Technical description

The M48T18-100PC1 is organized as 8Kx8 with 100ns access time. It operates from 4.5V to 5.5V and provides automatic chip deselect and write protection during power failure. The RTC stores BCD year, month, day, date, hours, minutes and seconds, with typical clock accuracy of about +/-1 minute per month at 25°C.

Indicative applications

Suitable for industrial controllers, legacy embedded systems, PLCs, instrumentation, data logging and service of equipment requiring battery-backed SRAM and RTC.

Compatibility note

ST specifies pin/function compatibility with DS1643 and JEDEC 8Kx8 SRAM interfaces. The PC1 version is a CAPHAT PDIP-28 with integrated battery/crystal and must not be confused with SOIC versions that require a separate SNAPHAT.
