OptoseaFiber Attenuator 5db

The Optosea SC/APC 5dB Singlemode Simplex Male-Female Fixed Fiber Optic Attenuator is a fixed 5dB optical attenuator for single-mode SC/APC links, using a male-to-female plug-in configuration for direct insertion into the optical path.

Technical description

The attenuator reduces optical power by a nominal 5dB without changing the connector interface. The SC/APC construction is intended for single-mode networks using APC polish and is used when received optical power must be reduced into the acceptable range of the receiver.

Indicative applications

Suitable for FTTH/GPON, CATV, PON, optical test setups, ODFs and optical power balancing in single-mode links.

Compatibility note

Use only with SC/APC single-mode interfaces. The 5dB value is fixed attenuation and should be selected according to the optical power budget and optical power meter measurements.
