The onsemi MC14538BDW Dual Precision Retriggerable Monostable Multivibrator 3-18V SOIC-16W is a dual precision retriggerable/resettable CMOS monostable multivibrator with independent timing circuits and Schmitt-trigger inputs.

Technical description

The MC14538B operates from 3V to 18V and provides an approximate 10us to 10s pulse-width range using external RX and CX components. Each channel can be triggered by positive or negative-going edges and has a separate reset input. The DW version uses a wide SOIC-16 package.

Indicative applications

Suitable for timers, pulse stretching, delay generation, missing-pulse detection, debounce, waveform conditioning and timing circuits.

Compatibility note

MC14538BDW is a Motorola/onsemi-family device rather than a Fairchild-specific part. For replacement, verify the wide SOIC-16 footprint and the RX/CX timing network.
