The O.E.G. SBR 440-1 is a half-wave speed-up motor brake rectifier designed to supply electromagnetic DC brakes from an AC source. It accepts 170-440VAC input and supports a maximum direct current of 1A at 75°C.

Technical description

The SBR 440-1 belongs to the O.E.G. SBR series and uses half-wave rectification with an initial overexcitation stage for faster brake actuation. O.E.G. specifies an overexcitation time of 400ms ±30% and an effective voltage ratio of Ueff=0.89xU~ during the boost stage and Ueff=0.445xU~ during the holding stage. Maximum ambient temperature is 75°C. The unit includes varistor protection on the AC input, DC output and quick-braking contact circuits, together with 3 service terminals for auxiliary loads such as fans, thermal probes or heaters.

Used with electric motors equipped with electromagnetic DC brakes, lifting equipment, industrial drive mechanisms, geared brake motors and applications requiring fast brake actuation from a rectified AC supply.
