The Microchip MCP1700-2502E/TO LDO Regulator 2.5V 250mA 2.3-6V Low Quiescent Current TO-92-3 is a fixed-output 2.5V CMOS low-dropout regulator from the MCP1700 family, with very low quiescent current and up to 250mA output current.

Technical description

The MCP1700 family operates from 2.3-6.0V input and has only 1.6uA typical quiescent current. It is stable with a 1uF ceramic output capacitor and includes short-circuit and overtemperature protection. This version provides fixed 2.5V output, E temperature grade (-40°C to +125°C) and TO-92-3 package.

Indicative applications

Suitable for battery-powered devices, always-on rails, sensors, microcontrollers, alarms, portable electronics and low-power embedded systems.

Compatibility note

Input must remain within 2.3-6.0V with the required headroom above the 2.5V output. Important: official maximum output current is 200mA for 1.8V MCP1700 versions, while versions at 2.5V and above support 250mA.
