EwimarSUG-24VDC/DIN

The EWIMAR SUG-24VDC/DIN is a 2-channel lightning and surge protection device for 24VDC power supply lines. It mounts on a 35mm DIN rail and protects electronic equipment against lightning-induced currents, transient overvoltages and sudden voltage increases caused by power-supply failure.

Technical description

The device protects two power conductors and supports a continuous rated current of up to 5A. It provides two-stage surge protection, with a maximum line-to-ground discharge current of 20kA at an 8/20μs waveform, a nominal discharge current of 10kA and a maximum lightning impulse current of 3.5kA at a 10/350μs waveform.

The line-to-line protection level is 40VDC, while the maximum continuous DC operating voltage is 27VDC. Screw input and output terminals provide secure power-line connections, while grounding is performed through a separate conductor. The enclosure occupies the width of one standard DIN rail module.

Typical applications

Suitable for industrial and building automation, security systems, alarm systems, access control, cameras, controllers, sensors, power supplies and other electronic equipment powered exclusively by 24VDC.

Installation and compatibility note

The SUG-24VDC/DIN is connected between the power source, such as a power supply or battery, and the protected device. A correct and short grounding connection is required. For long power lines, installation of one surge protector at each end of the line is recommended. The product is intended exclusively for 24VDC power transmission without an AC component or data signal.
