The onsemi RURG5060 is a 50A / 600V ultrafast power rectifier diode in a TO-247-2L package, designed for high-speed switching applications. It features a 75ns reverse recovery time and low forward voltage drop, making it suitable for switching power supplies, freewheeling and clamping applications.

Technical description

The RURG5060 supports a 600V repetitive peak reverse voltage VRRM and a 50A average rectified forward current IF(AV). Repetitive peak surge current is rated at 100A, while non-repetitive peak surge current IFSM reaches 500A. Maximum forward voltage drop is 1.6V at 50A and 25°C case temperature.

The ultrafast reverse recovery time is 75ns at IF 50A. The diode also features a 40mJ avalanche energy rating and maximum power dissipation of 150W, making it suitable for demanding high-power switching circuits.

Suitable for switching power supplies, converters, inverters, freewheeling circuits, snubber and clamping circuits, industrial power electronics, switching circuits and general high-speed rectification applications.

Compatibility note

Before replacement, verify the 600V reverse-voltage rating, required 50A current capability, reverse recovery time, terminal configuration and TO-247-2L package. Pin 1 is Cathode, pin 2 is Anode and the metal back surface of the package is also connected to the Cathode.
