The LCD1602 Keypad Shield Blue is a ready-to-use Arduino shield with a 16?2 alphanumeric LCD display, blue backlight and integrated control buttons. It mounts directly on compatible Arduino boards and allows text, sensor values, menus and status messages to be displayed. The built-in buttons make it easy to create simple user interfaces without adding an external keypad.

Technical description

The module combines an LCD1602 character display with an Arduino keypad shield. The LCD provides 2 lines ? 16 characters, blue backlight and contrast adjustment through an onboard potentiometer. The buttons are typically read through a single analog input, saving digital I/O pins. The shield is powered from the Arduino 5V supply and can be programmed using the standard LiquidCrystal library or compatible libraries.

Compatibility note

It is not an I2C module by default, as it uses a parallel LCD interface and button reading through an analog input.
