The OEM CP2102 USB to TTL UART Converter 6-Pin 3.3V/5V Serial Module is a compact serial communication module that converts a computer USB port into a TTL UART interface, suitable for programming, communication and diagnostics of microcontrollers and embedded systems.

Technical description

The module is based on the Silicon Labs CP2102 single-chip USB-to-UART bridge with integrated USB transceiver, oscillator and voltage regulator. It connects to a computer through USB and operates as a Virtual COM Port, allowing use with standard serial communication applications.

The CP2102 supports UART baud rates from 300bps to 1Mbps, 5, 6, 7 or 8 data bits, multiple parity modes and 1, 1.5 or 2 stop bits. The module provides a 6-pin header for connection to the target circuit and offers UART and supply connections for 3.3V/5V applications, depending on the exact board configuration.

Indicative applications

Suitable for communication with Arduino, ESP, AVR, PIC and other development boards or microcontrollers, serial debugging, firmware testing, module configuration and interfacing with GPS, Bluetooth, GSM and other devices using TTL UART communication.

Compatibility note

The CP2102 provides a TTL-level UART interface and must not be connected directly to true RS-232 voltage levels without a suitable level converter. Before connection, verify the target logic voltage, TX/RX/GND assignment and the exact pinout of the specific 6-pin board. TX and RX lines must be cross-connected between the converter and the target.
