OEMHC-SR04 Ultrasonic
The OEM HC-SR04 is an ultrasonic distance sensor for non-contact distance measurement, suitable for Arduino projects, robotics, automation, educational applications and obstacle detection.
It operates from a 5V DC supply and uses a 40kHz ultrasonic transmitter and receiver to calculate the distance from objects. The typical measuring range is approximately 2cm to 400cm, with accuracy up to approximately 3mm under suitable conditions, providing a simple and cost-effective solution for distance measurement applications.
Technical description
The HC-SR04 has 4 connection pins: VCC, Trig, Echo and GND. Measurement starts with an approximately 10μs trigger pulse, while the Echo output returns a pulse with duration proportional to the ultrasonic signal return time. The microcontroller calculates the distance based on the sound propagation time. The module operates at 5V and the Echo output is 5V logic level.
Typical applications
Suitable for robotic vehicles, obstacle avoidance, tank level measurement, presence detection, automation systems, Arduino projects, educational labs, prototyping, smart applications and low-cost distance measurement systems.
Compatibility note
The sensor is suitable for use with Arduino and other microcontrollers. On 3.3V boards such as ESP8266, ESP32 or Raspberry Pi, the 5V Echo output should not be connected directly without a proper voltage divider or level shifter. Measurement accuracy may be affected by object angle, surface material, temperature, noise and room conditions.
