UNI-TUT216C
The UNI-T UT216C is a professional True RMS digital clamp meter for measuring up to 600A AC/DC current and up to 1000V DC / 750V AC voltage. It features a 6000-count display and supports resistance, capacitance, frequency and temperature measurements, together with Inrush Current, NCV and VFC functions for demanding electrical and industrial applications.
Technical description
The UT216C measures AC and DC current up to 600A with ±(2.5%+5) accuracy. AC current frequency response is 40-400Hz. AC voltage measurement extends to 750V with ±(1.2%+5) accuracy, while DC voltage measurement reaches 1000V with ±(0.8%+3) accuracy. It also measures resistance up to 60MΩ, capacitance up to 60mF, frequency up to 1MHz and temperature from -40 to +1000°C. True RMS technology improves accuracy on non-sinusoidal signals, while the VFC function is intended for measurements on variable-frequency drives and inverter-controlled circuits.
The Inrush Current function allows measurement of motor and inductive-load starting current. NCV enables non-contact AC voltage detection. Additional functions include MAX/MIN, Relative mode, Data Hold, LCD backlight, flashlight, diode test, continuity buzzer and automatic power off.
Typical applications
Suitable for electricians, maintenance technicians, industrial installations, power panels, electric motors, HVAC systems, inverters, variable-frequency drives, power supplies and applications requiring AC/DC current measurement without disconnecting the conductor.
Compatibility note
For current measurement, only one conductor should pass through the clamp jaw. Clamping live and neutral conductors together may cause magnetic-field cancellation and result in an incorrect or near-zero reading. For DC current measurements, zero adjustment using REL may be required before measurement.
Frequently asked questions
Does it measure both AC and DC current?
Yes. The UT216C measures both AC and DC current up to 600A.
Does it support True RMS?
Yes. True RMS measurement is particularly useful with nonlinear loads and distorted waveforms.
Can it measure motor starting current?
Yes. The UT216C includes an Inrush Current function designed for measuring startup current on motors and other inductive loads.
